Chapter 0 - Became the Golden Sun of the Academy

Chapter 0 - NTR Ending

"─I’m sorry, Kyle. But once I graduate from the academy, I’ll be with Adele…

As I read the letters that combined one by one in the script, I sensed that something was terribly wrong. With trembling eyes, I removed my hands from the mouse, knowing that if I clicked a few more times, the words I didn’t want to see would appear.

“No, it can’t be, right?”

The game I was currently playing was “Academy’s Strongest Sword Saint”. It’s a cultivation game set in a medieval academy with a touch of romance. The protagonist, Kyle, is supposed to stop an evil group that aims to take over the academy by gathering powerful heroines.

“But why does the name of that blonde, tanned delinquent come up from his childhood friend’s mouth?”

Suddenly, the game’s plot drifted. The heroines, one by one, were being NTR’d (cuckolded) by other men, and now even Kyle’s childhood friend, Lucy, was following the same path.

First, she apologized to the protagonist who saved her. Then, she revealed the name of the person she secretly loved, saying they shouldn’t meet anymore because he disliked it. She hammered a stake into both the protagonist’s and the player’s hearts by saying they shouldn’t meet anymore.

“It won’t be like that. Lucy can’t be like the others.”

Lucy, Kyle’s childhood friend, was different from the other heroines. She had been by Kyle’s side since childhood, supporting him during difficult times and always being there for him. She was different from the rest.

With that belief, I clicked the mouse with trembling fingers. Lucy’s lines, hidden by ellipses, began to appear in the script.

─"I’ve decided to marry Adel. Even though you never looked back at me, saying I had to save the world, but he was different…"

“Ughhhhh!!!”

I scratched my cheeks with my nails, screaming like a beast. Blood trickled down from the skin where my nails had cut, but it hurt less than the emotional wound caused by Lucy’s words.

I continued to scream, feeling like I was vomiting blood, and then I slammed my fist into the center of the monitor, not wanting to see those words.

“Seriously, don’t mess with me!!!”

My hands pounded the ground as if they were about to break. I sent a lengthy complaint to the game developer, tears streaming down my face as I cursed the bastard.

The reason I wrote those desperate letters was simple.

“Please let me possess someone.”

That was it.

Why? If the game, with a touch of romance, had given Kyle more choices, couldn’t I, as an extra, possess and help him? As someone who had watched him both as the protagonist and as a player, I wanted his love to succeed.

But reality wasn’t like a novel.

Even if I sent lengthy letters to the developer, the response I received was a curt dismissal, telling me to stop playing games and face reality.

“Damn it, to me, the academy was reality…”

I hadn’t been NTR’d, but was Kyle feeling the same way? Facing a reality he didn’t want to see, but one he couldn’t change? The despair of realizing that the reality he didn’t want was irreversible was deeper and darker than any words could express.

“Yeah, if you won’t let me possess someone…”

I blinked my tear-filled eyes. If I sat there, unable to change anything, I’d be no different from Kyle, who didn’t hold onto Lucy even after she apologized for saving him. But I was different.

I knew how to take action.

Nothing is impossible in this world. Why not challenge the impossible, like a bird wanting to fly and eventually succeeding? There have been successful people who once seemed impossible. The current impossibility was merely because no one had succeeded yet.

With that thought, I picked up the metal chopsticks.

Hoping my desperate plea would reach, I plunged it into the computer screen, where the world of “Academy’s Strongest Sword Saint” was contained.

And then…

Zzzzzzzt!

With a brilliant blue spark, the world plunged into darkness.

"Impossible is nothing but a cowardly excuse for those who do not challenge themselves.

2023-02-10 Kim Yoo-jin.

Who is Kim Yoo-jin, you ask?

It’s me.

No, it was the name of the person I used to be.

I have finally succeeded in possessing [the body] by connecting directly to a computer imbued with the Academy’s Strongest Sword Saint.

“But why…”

Why did the one I possessed have to be Adel, the Golden Sun, who stole the heroine from the protagonist?"
